Rajkiya Mahavidyalaya, Muwani, Pithoragarh came into existence on 08 February 2014, vide notification No. 519/XXIV(7)/-(6/2014) by the Government of Uttarakhand. Earlier the college had a temporary affiliation with Kumaun University Nainital from 2014 to 2019. The college has a temporary affiliation with Soban Singh Jeena University, Almora Uttarakhand 2020 onwards in six subjects: Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Sociology, Political Science, and Economics.
